2018’s ‘Employee Appreciation Week’ is a home run

This year’s ‘Employee Appreciation Week’ took place June 13-20 and featured a baseball theme that was a big hit with Arsenal staff.

Every day, employees at Arsenal Credit Union work hard to make sure members receive the best service possible. Every year, Arsenal’s management team dedicates an ‘Employee Appreciation Week’ to thank all employees for their hard work and service. For the 18th annual celebration, employees were treated to a baseball-themed week full of fun and festivities.

Prize drawings for employees

During the week, every employee got two entries into a prize drawing. They could put their name in for prizes including:

  • Cardinals tickets

  • A hotel stay at Hyatt by The Arch
  • Amazon gift cards
  • Visa gift cards
  • Rally House gift cards
  • Bath & Body Works gift cards
  • McDonald’s and Starbucks gift cards
  • Yeti cups and coolers
  • An outside bistro set

Employee crossword game

Employees could earn more entries into the prize drawings by completing an Arsenal-themed crossword puzzle. This was a great way to get to know fellow employees better.

Food, food and more food

This year’s ‘Employee Appreciation Week’ theme was more apparent than ever in the food selection. On the second day of the celebration. Senior Vice Presidents John Gerke and Kraig Zang set up camp outside of the Arnold branch and grilled a generous amount of hot dogs for our employees. On the third day, employees brought in all the fixings for a complete nacho bar.

Throughout the week, employees received treats at their desks, including fresh-popped popcorn, Cracker Jacks, candy and peanuts. On one of the final days, everyone received a special ice cream treat from Ted Drewes.

Dress-down days

While Arsenal employees always enjoy a business casual dress code, they got to dress extra comfortable for ‘Employee Appreciation Week.’ Special theme days included two Cardinals dress-down days; a Red, White, and Blue day; a Favorite Team day; and two ACU-shirt days. Jeans and tennis shoes were sported throughout all of our branches.

A message from the CEO to Arsenal’s employees

“I’m grateful to each one of you for your contributions, whether you work in font or back-office support. It’s our great employees who give of themselves in service who make ACU what it is. Great job!,” said President/CEO Linda Allen as part of an email to staff.

A special thanks to Arsenal’s HR department

None of the week’s fun would’ve been possible without the careful coordination and hard work that Arsenal’s HR team put into it. One Arsenal employee said “I have had so much fun. It’s a pleasure to work at ACU! I appreciate the hard work that goes into the planning of this event.”
