Arsenal celebrates International Credit Union Day
Celebrate with us on Thursday, Oct. 18.
International Credit Union (ICU) Day is a chance to look back and be thankful for the lives and communities that have been improved by the credit union movement. ICU Day has been celebrated on the third Thursday of October since 1948, making this its 70th anniversary.
More than 116 million Americans belong to a credit union, representing 35.6 percent of the total U.S. population. Today, over 235 million people are served by over 56,000 credit unions in 109 countries and six continents.

What’s the difference between a credit union and a bank?
While credit unions like Arsenal offer similar services to banks, our mission is philosophically different. A bank’s mission is to make as much profit as possible for shareholders. Credit unions are member-owned, not-for-profit institutions. As a member-owner, your financial well-being is a credit union’s priority, not profiting from you.
