Arsenal finishes 2018 volunteer efforts strong
As a member-driven financial institution, we’re committed to helping people. This means helping you, our members, financially as well as making our community a better place to live.
People helping people
People helping people is the philosophy that we hold true at ACU. Last year, our staff put this into practice by contributing 1,226 hours of volunteer time.
Our community involvement efforts included paper shredding and recycling; electronics recycling; providing sack lunches and toiletries to St. Patrick Center in downtown St. Louis; holding various clothing, food and pet drives throughout the year; teaching financial concepts to students at area elementary, middle and high schools; and so much more!
December dress-down days
If you walked into a branch during the month of December, you noticed staff dressed a little more casually than usual. Our employees donated a total of $1,095 to various charities and credit union advocacy groups to make this happen.
- $560 to Jefferson County Pet Food Pantry
- $270 to Credit Union Legislative Action Counsel (CULAC)
- $150 to Heartland Charitable Foundation
- $115 to Children’s Miracle Network
Christmas light recycling
Once again, we partnered with Midwest Recycling Center for an eRecycling event. We placed bins outside of our branches to collect your old and broken strands of Christmas lights. We collected a total of 1,639 pounds of lights! The totals by branch were 509 pounds at Webster Groves, 613 pounds at Arnold and 517 pounds at Florissant.
