Arsenal CU draws large crowd for wills and trusts seminar
An overwhelming response
Within a half-hour of launching an email inviting members to a complimentary seminar on wills and trusts, 17 people signed up. The count climbed to over 60 within a few days.
To accommodate all of the members interested in the event, we moved the location from an upstairs meeting room to the main lobby of the Arnold branch and rented chairs. There were few empty seats for the April 30 seminar, Understanding Incapacity & Strategies to Plan for Continuum of Care.
About the wills and trusts seminar
At the seminar, Christine Alsop, a local elder law attorney, served as the guest speaker. David Weis, financial advisor with CUSO Financial Services, L.P. (CFS*), hosted the event and helped answer questions.
Some of the topics covered at the seminar included:
- Four ways that property passes upon death
- How to avoid probate
- The importance of having health and financial durable powers of attorney
- Trust administration and wills
- Life insurance
- Long-term care issues
- Asset protection
Due to the overwhelming demand for this particular topic, David will most likely host another one later in the year. Stay tuned to your inbox, Arsenal’s Facebook page and ArsenalCU.com for more information.
