Giving thanks to everyone who works at Arsenal: Employee Appreciation Week 2019
Arsenal Credit Union’s 2019 ‘Employee Appreciation Week(s)’ was a scary good time
For the 19th year in a row, Arsenal Credit Union’s management team dedicated two weeks in late October to thank all employees for their hard work and service. The event not only recognized employees for their dedication to Arsenal’s mission, it also helped employees get to know each other better and grow the positive work environment of the credit union.
Because ‘Employee Appreciation Week’ took place in late October, it was full of tricks and treats.
Employees were treated to a smorgasbord of candy, cookies, candy apples and other sweet treats just about every day. Treats were usually delivered directly to desks by senior managers, except on Halloween, when employees made trips to various offices for trick-or-treating.
Employees competed in a costume contest, paying homage to workout videos of the 1980s, “101 Dalmatians,” nursery rhymes, video game characters, Food Network personality Guy Fieri and much more. Employees also competed in a pumpkin carving contest. All entries were uploaded to the company intranet and voted on by employees. Winners of both contests received gift cards to retail establishments.
To help build stronger relationships between an already tight-knit staff, employees enjoyed after-work painting nights. Specially themed dress-down days, such as a tie dye day and an animal print day, let employees show off their unique personalities while showing some collaborative team spirit.
It’s a dog’s life
ACU employees weren’t the only ones who enjoyed the special event – their furry friends joined in on the fun. Employees enjoyed special take your dog to work days, and the four-legged friends were out and about in the branches throughout the two weeks.
Celebrating a long, successful career
One of the major highlights of Arsenal’s ‘Employee Appreciation Week’ (although not technically a part of it) was a send-off for 33-year veteran Linda Z. Employees celebrated her last day before retirement with a special card signed by staff, presents, a giant cake and a potluck lunch.
A message from our president/CEO
“The success of the credit union depends on everyone who works here – whether it’s conducting transactions on the teller line, marketing our latest promotion or planning out a long-term financial strategy. Great job everyone!,” said President/CEO Linda Allen.
A special thanks…
Every year, Arsenal’s HR team puts 100 percent effort into planning and coordinating this event. A special thanks goes out to them for creating such a great work culture.
