Recap: Our first-ever, all-virtual annual membership meeting
A success! On Monday, Nov. 9, we held our first ever virtual membership meeting via Zoom.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we moved our 72nd annual membership meeting from the spring to the fall. Proper social distancing measures made the logistics of getting our credit union family together impractical and not safe, so we did what we’ve been doing since March — moved our meeting online.
Presenting the 2019 reports
During the meeting, we shared various video presentations of the reports, highlighting financials and other accomplishments from 2019. Three of Arsenal’s leaders, Board Chairman Gary Dierks, President & CEO Linda Allen, and Supervisory Committee Chairman Bob Killion, presented the reports. You can view the videos and others below or check out the top 10 highlights here.

Introducing the 2020 ACU Scholarship winners
Next, we gave a presentation recognizing eight Arsenal members who not only excelled academically, but were also active in extracurricular activities at their respective high schools and gave back to their communities through volunteer service.
Electing new and incumbent board and supervisory committee members
During the meeting, five Arsenal members were elected into office by acclamation — incumbents Gary Dierks, Bob Killion and Adam Thurau, and first-time candidates Dominic Consolino, and Cheryl Chibnall.
After the meeting, Dierks was re-elected board chairman; Killion, board vice chairman; Keith Emery, board secretary; and Juanita Novotny, board treasurer.
All are volunteer positions.
Including everything else that makes Arsenal home
As members logged in early to participate in the meeting, we showed a video featuring some important information that didn’t quite fit into the other reports.
- More than three dozen member testimonials
- Recognition of employees who celebrated milestone anniversaries last year
- A salute to our 2019 “Employee of the Quarter” winners who received recognition from senior management and the board
- A farewell to a long-time employee (Linda Ziegler, 33 years) and two long time board directors (Randy Pratt, 28 years; and Peggy Haberberger, 12 years) who all retired from the credit union last year
- Arsenal trivia
- And much more
Big thanks to Mandy Kennedy for coordinating and putting the Zoom meeting together. Thanks to our volunteers for taking the time to serve Arsenal Credit Union. Thanks to the marketing department for putting together the video presentations.
Last but not least, thank you to everyone who was able to attend and who watched the reports online. Adapting to changes brought on by the current health crisis isn’t easy, but we’re making it work!
