Arsenal wins 2021 Dora Maxwell Award for community involvement efforts

The competition is held annually by the Heartland Credit Union Association and Credit Union National Association. It recognizes credit unions for outstanding achievement in a social responsibility program.

We were primarily recognized for our new Community Impact Fund and 14 grants totaling $24,300 that we awarded through it to local charities.

We also gave back in other ways to grant recipients, plus other nonprofit organizations through various drives, events, corporate and employee donations, sponsorship of digital financial education in local high schools and our employees volunteering more than 375 hours despite limited opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fast facts about our involvement with the Dora Maxwell Award

  • We were the only credit union in St. Louis to earn a Dora Maxwell Award this year, and statewide one of three credit unions to do so.
  • We came in 2nd place in the state in competition with other credit unions having assets between $250 million and $1 billion.
  • This is the 17th time we’ve won the Dora Maxwell Award.
