Supervisory committee position

New volunteers of the credit union participate in the Volunteer Achievement Program (VAP) and Volunteer Leader Program (VLP), educational programs aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of credit union board members and supervisory committee members. There are six (6) self-study courses to be taken in the first year (the credit union subsidizes the cost). Would you be willing to commit the time (approximately 2-3 hours per month) to complete these courses?

It is important that potential candidates understand that there is a risk of liability associated with acting as a credit union officer or director. The risk also involves a potential personal liability that could include recovery from the directors themselves (personally) rather than or in addition to the liability of the credit union. The application information is confidential and will stay at Arsenal Credit Union. If you are selected as a candidate, you may be required to attend a formal interview with the nominating committee. The names and addresses of the board of directors and supervisory committee members are furnished to regulators and may be a matter of public record. Each director is expected to prepare for and attend the regular quarterly board and committee meetings, the annual membership meeting, scheduled planning sessions and other board events that may arise. Non-adherence to the board, supervisory committee, and nominating committee information may result in a candidate’s disqualification. Non-adherence to the policies and procedures or bylaws of Arsenal Credit Union may result in a board director’s or supervisory committee member’s removal.
